Welcome all!
Let me tell you a tale
Of Life, and Love, and Loss, and Death
For those with ears and hearts
Who live and love
For those who’ve lost
And one day will die too…

My Village

My Village
At the base of the mountain
But at the top of the world
Lies the most precious place
With the most special folk
Hidden in the mist
This one little town
Lost in its own darkness
Is where I call home
We’re all the best of bus friends
At conjuring small talk
You say something that I will soon forget
As I smile and nod
“My cousin’s having a baby”
“I once had one of those too”
We’re all fake in the eyes we meet
Down here blinding ain’t no taboo
‘Cause the waves don’t crash in the village where I live
Though crash sites prosper
The waves don’t crash in the town in which I live
But I’ll take what it has to offer.
And down in this hellhole
Is where I keep my friends
We sometimes lose each other
Sometimes make our amends
And you’re welcome to join in
Our army of doom
Come on down to our paradise
We got plenty of room
‘Cause the waves don’t crash in the city where I live
Though crash sites prosper
The waves don’t crash in this world in which we live
But I’ll take what is has to offer,
Yes I’ll take what is has to offer,
I guess I’ll take what it has to offer

No Hardship is a Brick Wall
Do you feel the heat
Under your feet
Or do you just feel dirt?
This climb is just way too steep
Not to live rooted deep
And be one with the Earth
Keep searching for that place yet to be found,
You’ll find it once your feet don’t touch the ground
And as you pass along those streets
Where love and hate both co-exist
Worry not if you fall
Just pick yourself up on your own
Cause your own fate is yours alone
And no hardship is a brick wall
Keep searching for that place yet to be found,
You’ll find it once your feet don’t touch the ground

The Art of Collecting Scars
Scalded by mom and dad,
I pick fights with my best friends,
A bully twists my arm
And thus a scar is born
And who’s to say
To defy is to betray?
If all scars tell a tale
I guess I found that
…True love is begging to be scarred
I found true love is begging to be scarred
Now as my soul takes flight
And wanders through the night
My past beliefs are torn
Another scar is born
And who’s to know,
Could this be the way we grow?
The healing part is hard
But that’s why the art of
…True love is begging to be scarred
I found true love is begging to be scarred

Still Can’t Write a Love Song
If you want a song
I’ll buy you one
From someone who knows how to
Write you the perfect verse
The strings don’t buzz
The meter sticks
You get your fix
Cause no, no song of mine
Will do or ever sound right
For i’m not in control
Of what I can’t define
And I feel like i don’t know what love is…
And I feel like i don’t know where love is…
Most of the time
But i guess i can give it a try…
Her grace lights the room enough to make it disappear.
Her eyes own me. Vulnerable and exposed I find myself trembling with her every move. And her voice… Well, i guess somebody had to teach the angels how to sing.
The gentlest touch triggers a surrender. If this is a war i’m no match for her vigor. For time did come and time may pass, but the immensity of her essence always resounds with an overwhelming echo:
It’s amazing how a whole world can fit inside a person…
She can fit two.

The DecaDance

The DecaDance
And while some play with drones
And dream about space
We all twirl in this DecaDance
Just across the sea
They’ve got nothing to eat
Yet we all twirl in this DecaDance
We indulge in what’s new
I mean not all, just a few
Yes we all twirl in this DecaDance
In our daily affairs
We forget what we share
While we all twirl in this DecaDance
The more we read the news
The further from the truth
I don’t know what to believe anymore
This is not evolution
We just strive for confusion
To keep busy and free from these thoughts
It takes all to DecaDance

21st Century Slavery

21st Century Slavery
It’s not over yet, I know
Slavery thrives like it did before
Through information, greed and force
We’re still dying for their cause
They bound our minds and feast on our flesh
And just like puppets we nod our heads yes
But while empires rise and new kings are crowned
Let’s not forget the ones who lifted them from the ground
Time to break the chains and let our voice be heard
We’re no longer sheep, this ain’t no longer a herd
It’s carved in stone and needless to say
“Thou who giveth can taketh away”

Our Shared Detachment

Our Shared Detachment
Drifting in detachment,
And though drawn towards all attractions,
I’m bound to keep my distance
Not sure what to assume
Is this body I consume
The one doing the consumption?
Each step forward, one step back
Pages drift and days exist in endless twists and I persist to seek the gift that I was always told that I was given. The suffering that brings me back to years and days that started black - I swore i’d never think like that - my heart attacks my minds new disposition. And I refuse to reattach the shackles that would bring me back to the darkest depths that slither up my spine and twist my words in my own mind. I thought I owned my own perspective but no amount of love protects it. I neglected my own thoughts and now they fester and they rot. I’ve got to burn the plot to let the field be born again… Burn to be born again.
‘Cause through the vine
And from all sides
I hear you cry too
Are we the same?
I feel ashamed..
Who should I blame…?

A Deathbed Love Letter
Will you grow wings?
And if you do
Where will you fly to?
Is there a place
For you and I
Eternally?
As you toss and turn
Inside your dreams
Can you see me
All we’ve been through
And all you mean
Internally?

Life, Love, Loss & Death (Postlude)
Thank you all
For your time and your space
For Life, and Love, and Loss, and Death
Are all we have to share
Amongst ourselves
I’ve given up mine
In hopes you give up yours too…
